The NKA Universitas Pécs women's team defeated Israeli side Elitzur Ramla on home court as well, maintaining a perfect record in Group C of the EuroCup. In the game played at the Lauber Dezső Sports Hall, the Pécs squad seized control already in the first quarter and went on to claim a 77–61 victory.
Our girls started the game with confidence, building an early lead within minutes. Alíz Varga and Eszter Rátkai knocked down threes, while Julia Reisingerová and Ágnes Studer scored effectively in the paint. The defense was sharp, generating steals and rebounds that fueled fast breaks. By the end of the first quarter, NKA Universitas Pécs had built a commanding 27–11 lead.
The second period saw no drop in intensity. Julia Reisingerová, Kinga Josepovits, Alíz Varga and Ágnes Török all added points, while Ramla tried to keep pace through threes from Lior Garzon and Mikiah Herbert-Harrigan. Adenike Olawuyi and Ágnes Török also contributed for Pécs, and the teams headed to halftime with the scoreboard showing 51–34.
In the third quarter, Pécs shifted into an even higher gear. Julia Reisingerová hit two more threes, Ágnes Studer scored on the break, and Dalma Gréts added steals to extend the lead. Ramla struggled with missed shots and turnovers, while the home side executed efficiently. The gap widened to 70–39 by the end of the quarter.
The final period left no doubt about the outcome. Although Ramla connected on a few long-range shots, Eszter Rátkai and Ágnes Török responded with baskets of their own, and Julia Reisingerová continued to dominate the boards. Bench players also saw action, with Kata Halmágyi and Petra Hőgye stepping onto the court. The game ended 77–61, sealing another confident win for Pécs.
NKA Universitas Pécs didn’t just dominate the scoreboard — the stats told the same story. The team scored 77 points to Ramla’s 61 and won the rebounding battle 42–29, including 15 offensive and 27 defensive boards.
Pécs also led in assists (18 vs. 15), steals (10 vs. 5), and fast break points (12 vs. 0). While blocks favored Ramla (2 vs. 1), turnovers were nearly even (17 vs. 20). The home side’s dominance in the paint was striking: 46 points compared to Ramla’s 16. Second-chance points (12–8) and bench scoring (20–13) also leaned in Pécs’s favor.
Throughout the game, Pécs led for 38 minutes and 31 seconds, while Ramla held the lead for just 25 seconds. The largest margin was 36 points, and the longest scoring run for Pécs was 12–0.
Head Coach Zeljko Djokic’s Postgame Remarks:
“We’re truly grateful to our fans for creating such a fantastic atmosphere — they’re the reason we do this, and we’re happy to see the women’s team becoming a talking point around town. We fought hard, and that goes not only for experienced players like Julia Reisingerová, but also for our young talents like 17-year-old Kinga Josepovits — and I could name many others. Even though we led by 30 at one point, let’s not forget that Ramla is a very strong team, packed with American-British imports and Israeli national team players. Today’s win came from our system. We had key absences and had to play again within 48 hours, which wasn’t easy, but our young players stepped up. Even if they didn’t always convert their chances, they created plenty of opportunities.”
